The Clément Family
The same family has been running this hotel for more than 60 years!
Colette and Alain Barrat first arrived here in 1961. Their daughter Marie-Christine and her husband Didier Clément joined them in 1980.
And with Didier and Marie-Christine’s daughter Hélène now in the picture, a third generation is already taking shape.

Marie-Christine Clément
Marie-Christine runs the hotel and restaurant while carrying out her research on the history of gastronomy. Her first books bring back to life the cuisine of George Sand, the desserts of the Comtesse de Ségur and the art of good food by Colette, of whom she is considered an expert. She has also written about the art of living in Sologne, the history of chocolate and the imaginary world of vegetables.
"I was interested in how words emerge from the very mouth that receives food and how these words feed the imagination and create language."

Didier Clément
Discreet, secret, Didier Clément is passionate about cooking from a very young age.

Hélène Clément
After successfully completing her studies (Political Science, Oenology and Business), Hélène divides her time between Paris and Sologne. Passionate about haute cuisine, she also runs a digital communication strategy company but never misses an opportunity to visit her local market with her #papachef on Saturday mornings!
She has just launched a new podcast called Une Cuillère en Argent on the theme of knowledge sharing in the French art of living professions.
